3D Printing
Purpose
The 3D printer is for printing 3D objects including toys, art projects, tech prototypes, and experimental designs.
Policy
The 3D printer may only be used for lawful and library appropriate purposes. It cannot be used to print materials that are:
Weapons of any kind
Objects that are pornographic or appeal to the prurient interest
In violation of another’s intellectual property or copyright
Prohibited by local, state, or federal law
Unsafe or inappropriate for a public space
Library staff and volunteers may attempt to assist patrons in the use of the 3D printer, however patrons are responsible for bringing a functioning printable design. Library staff are not able to update or make corrections to 3D printer files.
The library reserves the right to:
Review and approve all print requests
Set a limit on number of print requests per patron
Set limits on the length of any print job
Refuse any 3D print request that does not comply with this policy
Supervision of 3D printing by library staff or volunteers does not constitute knowledge or acknowledgement of the final use of the product printed and the library specifically disclaims any knowledge thereof.
Violation of these rules may result in loss of 3D printer privileges.
